As V.P. Brand Management for the ASF, I implemented the effective open source branding policy used by 200+ Apache project communities.
With experience mentoring both individuals and project communities, I can help you and your team navigate the open source contribution process.
Reducing risk by helping your business understand the branding, legal, and long-term community aspects to the technology you rely on.
Committer and PMC member on the Apache Xalan project, one of the first projects created after the incorporation of the ASF in June 1999.
After volunteering just once for the "Concom" committee, I organized ApacheCon conferences, and served as conference lead for ApacheCon US 2008 in New Orleans.
After being elected to the Board of Directors in 2009, I led the reorganization of the ASF's public relations committee into individual, delegated roles with clear responsibilities; I'm now in my second term as Vice Chairman of the Board.
With extensive experience with technology, communities, branding, and conference speaking, it's time to start the next step: Punderthings Consulting: new ways to engage in open source!
